MDA-MB-231 cells were either transfected with 1 µg of an expression plasmid encoding a constitutively active form of TβRI, TβRI(T204D), or mock-transfected or treated with forskolin. After o/n incubation in 2D cultures cells were analyzed for TβRI RNA levels by Q-RT-PCR (A) or for protein levels of TβRI, Cox-2, TIMP-1, PAI-1, Phospho-Smad3, ERK1/2 (loading control) by the Western blot technique (B).
