Measured lasing spectra and calculated modes of cleaved-coupled nanowires with integer ratios between the lengths of the component nanowires. Good agreement is found between the experimental lasing spectra (blue lines) and theoretical predictions (blue diamonds) for both (A) 9-μm (1:1) and (B) 9-μm (2:1) coupled nanowires. The free spectral ranges of these coupled nanowires coincide with those of the shorter component nanowires (red squares).
