The mean brood size for Gila (indicated by 1) and Yaqui (indicated by 0) topminnows, F₁ crosses between them (0.5), and the two types of backcross categories (0.25 and 0.75) where these crosses are separated by the sex of F₁ individuals. Here, the two types of backcrosses in which F₁ of a given sex were produced by reciprocal matings were combined (Hurt and Hedrick 2003).
