The results of the co-immunoprecipitation analyses (Figures 14 and 6) are consistent with a model where the N- and C- termini of HPS1and the N-terminal and middle region of HPS4 are involved in the interactions, leading to BLOC-3 formation. Specifically, N-termini of HPS4 and HPS1 interact with each other, and the central portion of HPS4 interacts with both the N- and the C- termini of HPS1.
