Effect of hydroprene on the development of T. castaneum. The final instar larvae were treated with 0.5ppm of hydroprene before 24-h AEFL. The subsequent molt or metamorphic stages are shown. The control larvae treated with acetone alone entered the quiescent stage and pupated while hydroprene-treated larvae molted into supernumerary larvae twice, avoiding the quiescent stage.
