Arabidopsis SiR (top panels) and SO (bottom panels) activities in leaves treated with sulfite. Samples were collected at fixed time times (30 min and 3, 8, and 24 h) after sulfite injections. Both enzyme activities were measured in soluble proteins extracted from one sample. The values are presented as relative levels of enzyme activity. Values of SiR and SO expression are means ± se for three SIR KD (SIR KD1T, SIR KD2T, and SIR KD3P) and two SIR OE (SIR OE7 and SIR OE12) plants (n = 3 or 4).
