The experimental period lasted 14 weeks, and all sampled individuals were randomly selected. Out of the 2256 individuals genotyped, 20 individuals were excluded from the data set due to unsuccessful family assignment, growth malformations or sampling errors, leaving the total data set for growth comparisons consisting of 2236 individuals.
