Phospholipid binding at the rim domain. Surface representation is shown of the rim domain of αHL (PDB ID 7AHL) (A) and NetB (B) in the same orientation. The phosphocholine binding pocket, which is formed by Trp-179 and Arg-200 in αHL, is absent in NetB. Tyrosine 202 in NetB affects binding and toxicity and could be involved directly in lipid binding. Arginine 200 in NetB is disordered and thus absent from the model.
