Both p44/p42 and p38 MAPK are involved in LPS-induced cytokine/chemokine production in alveolar macrophages. AC: MH-S cells were treated with 100 ng/mL LPS in the presence or absence of p44/42 MAPK inhibitor, U0126 (10 μmol/L), p38 MAPK inhibitor VII (10 μmol/L), or both for 8 hours. Supernatants were subjected to ELISA analysis for TNF-α (A), IL-6 (B), and MIP-2 (C) production. Data are presented as means ± SEM (n = 4 to 6). DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide.
