CD8-NΔE LLAA–positive endosomes fuse into rab5 early endosomes following expression of rab5Q79L. PEN1/2 ^−/− MEFs were cotransfected with plasmid encoding CD8-NΔE-mChr (A) or CD8-NΔE LLAA-mChr (D) and GFP-rab5Q79L (B and E). Alternatively, cells were cotransfected with plasmid encoding LAMP-1-mRFP (monomeric red fluorescent protein) (G) and CD8-NΔE LLAA-GFP (H).
