UVA-induced mobilization of dermal nitric oxide derivates. UVA-induced nitrite (NO₂⁻) decomposition in the skin leads to the generation of nitric oxide (NO) and nitroso compounds (RSNO). NO can diffuse into blood vessels, where it is oxidized to nitrate by hemoglobin, or into deeper skin levels, where it is oxidized to nitrite. RSNO are vasoactive and can enter the blood system, evolving changes in blood flow and pressure.
