Cx36 mRNA levels are unchanged 2 h following ischemia or activation of group II mGluRs. Statistical data from RT-qPCR experiments in wild-type mouse mature neuronal somatosensory cortical cultures (A) and in the primary somatosensory cortex of adult wild-type mice (B) are shown. Experimental conditions and drug concentrations are the same as in Western blot experiments in vitro (Fig. 2) and in vivo (Fig. 4). In both graphs, relative Cx36 transcript levels are normalized to β-actin, and normalized values are compared with the control (set to 1.0).
