CideB binds to VLDL-apoB and may facilitate the VTV formation. CideB interacts with Sar1 and Sec24 to assemble an intricate COPII coat that may be necessary for the formation of large sized vesicles, the VTV, from hepatic ER membranes. CideB does not interact with nascent secretory proteins such as albumin and is not present in PTVs.
