Less efficient small RNAs are incorporated into lower numbers of Argonautes. The target repression to target derepression transition becomes smoother. (B) Catalytic PTR at sixfold increased kR range. A distinctively different signature in target expression level variation is found. The strength in target repression is reduced compared to HE catalytic PTR, but the level of variation in target expression increases linearly with kR.
