A) MYB44 interacts with MKK4 in yeast. b-galactosidase activity in protein extracts from yeast co-transformed with activation-domain (AD) fusions to MYB44 and binding domain (BD) fusions to representative members of MAPKK family. Values of MKK autoactivity were substracted. Specific interaction of MYB44 with MKK4, and weakly with MKK5, was detected. B) MYB44 forms homodimers in yeast. ß-galactosidase activity in protein extracts form yeast co-transformed with BD-MYB44 and AD-MYB44 or with the the corresponding empty-vector controls.
