The concentration of silver was determined by ICP.
The concentration of SCC23 was calculated taking in consideration the MW of SCC23 (585.25 g.mol−1) and the MW of silver (107.87 g.mol−1).
The loading efficiency was calculated based on the initial feed and the final loading of SCC23.
Size of the Ac-DEX particles measured by DLS just after the sonication procedure (average of three measurements).
Size of the particles measured after centrifugation, washing, lyophilization and redispersion in PBS (average of three measurements).
Yield was calculated based on the amount of Ac-DEX particles recovered after lyophilization.
