Effects of concanamycin A treatment on dry weight and nitrogen content in pollinated flowers. Detached flowers were pollinated at anthesis and placed in distilled water (Cont) or 5 µM concanamycin A (ConcA) for 3 d. Dry weights of petals, ovaries, and receptacle with sepals (Rec+sep) were measured for each flower (n=30). Nitrogen (N) content was determined for three sets of ten tissues (n=3). Each bar represents the mean±SE. Asterisks indicate a significant difference at P <0.05 (*) by Student’s t-test.
