Drug sensitivity of KYMM-1 and KYMM-2 cell lines. (A) KYMM-1 and KYMM-2 were treated with various concentrations of bortezomib and incubated for 24 h. Cell growth was analyzed by WST-8 assay. No difference in sensitivity to bortezomib was observed between the two cell lines. (B) Induction of apoptosis was analyzed by Annexin V staining. KYMM-1 and KYMM-2 were treated with the indicated concentrations of bortezomib for 24 h. The difference in apoptotic cells in the two cell lines following treatment with bortezomib is minimal. (C) KYMM-1 and KYMM-2 were treated with various concentrations of lenalidomide for 72 h and analyzed by WST-8 assay. KYMM-1 was resistant to lenalidomide compared with KYMM-2. (D) Marked increase in Annexin V positive cells was observed in KYMM-2 at 40 μM and 80 μM of lenalidomide compared with KYMM-1.
