Mandibles were dissected on GD11.5-GD15.5 from wild-type and Prdm16−/− embryos/fetuses, RNA prepared and cDNAs synthesized and analyzed by real-time PCR for the expression of early (proliferation/condensation), mid (differentiation), and late (ossification) processes of chondro/osteogenesis. The data are expressed as the relative level (mean ± S.D.) on days 12.5–15.5 of gestation compared to the level on day 11.5.
