a) The cell population is represented by the Cole-Cole model with an extracellular resistance (Rextra) in parallel to the tissue constant phase element (CPEcells) and a high frequency intracellular current pathway (Rintra). The electrode/electrolyte interface is modeled by a constant phase element (CPEelectrode). A parallel capacitance (Cpar) characterizes parasitic current shunts at high frequency. b) Impedance plot of MCF-7 cell culture. LF and HF refer to the low and high frequency respectively that were followed-up in this study. The equivalent circuit was used to fit the impedance and phase angle plots.
