The CpG island upstream of the SOX2 was unmethylated during porcine embryonic development. In porcine gametes (A and B) and early embryos (C and D), the CpG island with 25 CpG sites was generally hypomethylated. In addition, DNA methylation level was also low in the liver (E), implying that this locus was able to resist genome-wide de novo methylation after implantation.
