Glandular inflammation was consistently associated with atrophic acini and ducts. (b) Simple atrophy continuous with partial atrophy. (c) Simple atrophy partially involving the prostatic acinus. Inflammation was not present in foci where simple atrophy involved only part of the acinus or duct.
