Each plot represents values for all in-brain voxels of a different subject (out of 47), with each point corresponding to one voxel. Voxels highlighted in red, green and blue correspond to the voxels in a 3 × 3 × 3 cube around an example voxel in the occipital (red), left motor cortex (green) and posterior cingulate cortex (blue). Voxels in the left motor cortex as well as those in the occipital cortex consistently show a positive linear relationship, while voxels in the (task-deactivated) posterior cingulate cortex show a negative relationship.
