In three animals, there is a drastic increase in head turns toward the left (implanted) side following the laser activation. The total time of head turns shows some variability between animals for the same ear and same time period. In one animal, cat 4, there was no evidence of a behavioral response, as measured by head turns. The counts for head turns are the same for the right and left side post-laser activation. Red bars indicate head turns toward the left (implanted) side and blue bars indicate head turns toward the right. Shaded bars represent the 2 minutes before laser activation and solid bars represent the 2 minutes after laser activation.
