6–8 week old female C57/Bl6J mice were infected with WT or ΔcylE GBS strains separately by transurethral catheterization and colonization assessed at 24 h. No difference was observed in the number of CFUs recovered from bladders, kidneys or urine comparing WT (filled shapes) with ΔcylE (open shapes) GBS.
