Bladder tissue from WT-infected (filled boxes) animals was assessed by qRT-PCR at 24 h and demonstrated increased transcription of IL-6, IL-1α and TNF-α compared to those receiving ΔcylE GBS (empty boxes). Data were compared using Mann-Whitney U test; P values are indicated atop the boxes where appropriate.
