Within each species sampled at more than one site, an ANOVA was run to test whether the sampled sites differed significantly from each other (P < 0.05). Within each species, sites sharing the same letter for a given variable were not statistically different from each other (all pairwise multiple comparison procedures: Holm–Sidak method).
