The effect of tobramycin, CuT and SOD on superoxide release from OPZ-activated neutrophils. Neutrophils at 107 mL−1 suspended in HBSS with Ca/Mg + 20 mM HEPES, pH 7.4 were treated with OPZ alone and OPZ in the presence of a range of tobramycin, CuT and SOD concentrations added at the same time as freshly prepared OPZ (1 mg·mL−1) for 15 min at 37°C with gentle shaking. Superoxide ions were measured by the reduction of cytochrome C (n = 3, independent experiments) at 550 nm. C is the spontaneous generation of O2− and OPZ is the generation of O2− by OPZ alone.
