Endoprosthesis measurement and selection: CT angiography shows an infrarenal aortic aneurysm. CT reconstruction is needed to determine whether endovascular aneurysm removal is possible and to select the prosthesis. Endoprosthesis planning requires precise length, diameter, and angle measurements. These can now be taken using a computer program. To provide an accurate length measurement, the centerline of the vessel is determined. The program draws the centerline along the length of the vessel. The vessel is straightened along the centerline (center left in Figure: “Straightened CPR View”). This makes it much easier to measure its length. The measurement obtained can then be used to construct an endovascular stent prosthesis.
