Adult female mosquitoes reared from extended quiescence eggs exhibited 10.2% significantly longer life span than adult female mosquitoes reared from short quiescence eggs (40.1 vs. 36.0days) (N=45, log rank, p<0.01). The hormetic effect of metal stress differed significantly between extended and short quiescence females, an increase of 12.8 vs. 20% respectively over their clean reared counterparts (46.1 vs. 43.2 days) (log rank test p<0.01).
