Annual length growth of Saccharina latissima and S. longicruris as functions of latitude across the entire geographical distribution range of the species. Data from the present study (filled symbols) were compared with data from the literature (open symbols) where annual growth was typically assessed based on consecutive blade-marking, in which case we added all seasonal estimates to produce an annual estimate.
