Representative whole mount images of rat fetal testis cross sections at gd 21 following DBP exposure. Pregnant dams were exposed beginning on gd 12 to corn oil (CON), or DBP at 0.1, 1, 10, 30, 50, 100, or 500 mg/kg/d (labeled in the upper right hand corner for each dose). There is a decrease in testis size that becomes apparent at 30 mg/kg/d. There is also a decrease in the number of seminiferous tubule cross sections and an increase in the size of the seminiferous tubules seen at 100 mg/kg/d that is most obvious at the highest dose (500 mg/kg/d).
