Figure 1 shows the flow of participant selection. All data are current as of May 1, 2012. ¹The administrative divisions (oblasts) included in each region were Kyivs’ka, Chernihivs’ka, Zhytomyrs’ka (north); Odes’ka (south); Donets’ka (east); Lvivs’ka (west). ²24 interviewees decided not to participate for the following reasons: already knew status (N = 7); about to transfer elsewhere (N = 6); cannot give blood (N = 5); transferred to isolation unit (N = 3); felt too sick (N = 3). ³Discontinued enrolment due to poor cooperation from prison staff.
