Effect of injection of neural progenitor cells (NPCs) on the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) (A) and its receptor (VEGFR2) (B) proteins after cerebral embolism. Bands corresponding to VEGF and VEGFR2 of sham-operated (sham), microsphere-induced cerebral embolism (ME), vehicle-injected ME (Veh-ME), and NPC-injected ME (NPC-ME) rats on days 7 and 28 after the embolism were scanned; the scanned bands were normalized by actin on the same blot.
