Effect of (PVPON/TA)4 shells on Th1 pro-inflammatory cytokine synthesis in stimulated bone marrow-derived macrophages and diabetogenic BDC-2.5 T cells. NOD bone marrow-derived macrophages stimulated with 100 ng mL−1 LPS in the presence of (PVPON/TA)4 shells for 24 hours exhibited a decrease in IL-12p70 synthesis (A). BDC-2.5 T cells (5×105) stimulated with 1 μM BDC-2.5 mimotope in the presence or absence of 108-103 (PVPON/TA)4 shells for 96 hours exhibited a decrease in IFN-γ (B), but no change in IL-2 synthesis (C). Results are representative of 3 independent experiments performed in triplicate. ** indicates p < 0.05.versus the control group.
