(A–E)Streptomycin treated WT mice were injected IP with CoPP (n = 5) or PBS (n = 4), 12 h prior to oral gavage with streptomycin resistant S. typhimurium. Treatment was repeated 48 h later and mice were euthanized 72 h after infection. Organs were recovered and CFUs were quantified by plating on LB agar with 50 μg/mL streptomycin. Data are presented as mean ± SEM and are representative of two independent experiments with similar results. (F) Permeability was analyzed in proximal colon tissue in Ussing chambers by measuring mucosal-to-serosal FITC-dextran flux. Data are presented as mean ± SEM. *p < .05, **p < .01.
