AST and ALT measurements were based on 10 GOT1 deletion carriers from HAPI Heart study. The rest of the phenotype measurements were based on 10 GOT1 deletion carriers from HAPI Heart Study and 14 additional identified GOT1 deletion carriers in Amish; 856 non-carriers were from HAPI Heart Study.

P-values for fasting glucose, fasting insulin and waist circumference were based on non-diabetics.
