Tc81 cells were cotransfected with a reporter plasmid carrying a kJHRE region (−477 to +1883, pGL4.14) conjugated to firefly luciferase, a reference reporter plasmid carrying Renilla luciferase, and the indicated dsRNAs. The cells were treated with 10 μM methoprene (JHA) for 24 h, and reporter activities were measured using a dual-luciferase reporter assay system. The activity of the firefly luciferase reporter was normalized to that of the Renilla luciferase reporter in the same samples. Data represent means ± SD (n = 3).
