Curcumin attenuated hydrogen peroxide-induced microRNA expression in ARPE-19 cells. In the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) array, cells were treated with 20 μM curcumin for 6 h and 200 μM hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for 18 h. In the curcumin pretreatment group, the cells were treated with 20 μM curcumin for 6 h first, and after washing, the cells were insulted with 200 μM H2O2 for 18 h. The curcumin pretreatment significantly suppressed the H2O2-induced expression of 17 microRNAs (miRNAs) compared to controls.
