Comparison between groups A and B before treatments. The variable NYHA is the class data of the NYHA classification of the CHF patients, and the class II, III and IV were converted to 2, 3 and 4, respectively, in order to calculate the averaged value and the standard deviation. The categorized NYHA classes were tested for the group difference using the Pearson's chi squared test 44. The other eight measurements have the same meaning as in Table 1, and their P-values were calculated using the independent-sample t-test.
