Dietary restriction leads to deacetylation of the lysine 9 residue in histone 3 (H3K9) close to the Mup5 gene on chromosome 4 (light grey bar). The black bar indicates the region tiled by the microarray. Acetylation of H3K9 within this region in the liver of DR-fed compared with AL-fed mice is indicated with grey bars.
