Illustration of the on-chip lensfree holography platform. A partially coherent light source (e.g., an LED) is used to illuminate the sample which is placed less than 5 mm from the image sensor. The pinhole is placed at ~ 4–10 cm away from the sensor surface to record the digital in-line holograms of specimens with unit fringe magnification.
