During a variable interval (VI = 400–1600 ms), a central fixation cross is presented and the participant is instructed to look at it. A cue then is presented for 100 ms. The four cue conditions are shown: No Cue, Central Cue, Double Cue, and Spatial Cue. Following the cue presentation, a central fixation cross is displayed and is followed by the target stimulus. The three different target configurations are shown: the Neutral, Congruent and Incongruent target configurations. The target is displayed until the participant responds with a maximum of 1700 ms. In case of the reaction time shorter than 1700 ms, the stimulus is replaced by the central fixation cross.
