(A) Elastic modulus results for Bowman’s layer obtained from 6 human donor corneas. A minimum of 10 measurements is included in the calculation of the mean elastic modulus and standard deviation for each donor. The average of the means is E = 109.8 ± 13.2 with a range of 84–123 kPa. (B) Elastic modulus results for the anterior stroma from 5 human donor corneas. A minimum of 10 measurements is included in the calculation of the mean elastic modulus and standard deviation for each donor. The average of the means is E = 33.1 ± 6.1 kPa, with a range of 24–39 kPa.
