(a) Schematic of modulating light scattering apparatus. Microbubbles are flowed through a tube into a water tank, where they are simultaneously interrogated by a ultrasound pulse and a continuous wave laser. If the microbubble oscillates in response to the sine wave ultrasound pulse (b), the microbubble will expand and contract accordingly (c), changing the intensity of light scattering. (d) Fourier Transforms of received light scattering signal gated by AC variance, averaged over 100 oscillating bubbles each.
