Fl-CPPs lyse RBCs upon irradiation and the production of singlet oxygen is involved in this process. A) Photohemolysis curves for TMR-TAT, TMR-R9 and TMR-K9. B) Effect of tocopherol and crocetin on TMR-TAT mediated photohemolysis. C) Quenching of RNO absorbance by TMR-TAT as a function of irradiation time. Rose Bengal and eosin Y are used a singlet oxygen generators of known singlet oxygen quantum yields (0.76 and 0.57, respectively). All experiments were performed in triplicates to obtain standard deviation and the data represents the average of 3 sets of readings.
