^aPTP61Fn was overexpressed in a segment of the wing using dpp-Gal4 (area 1), and the effect on cell size and cell number compared to a control region (area 2) was analyzed. Overexpression of PTP61Fn (dpp>PTP61Fn) caused a 30% reduction in growth within area 1 compared to control due to a reduction in both cell size and cell number. No significant difference was observed in cell size or number in area 2 between genotypes. Results shown are means ± standard errors of the means (SEM).
