The E6AP carboxyl terminus contributes to polyubiquitin chain elongation. Initial rates of free 125I-polyubiquitin chain formation were measured as in Fig. 2 under E6AP limiting conditions with 8 nm GST-E6AP and the indicated concentrations of wild type UbcH7 in the absence (closed circles) or presence (open circles) of 2 mm Ac-AKGFGML peptide.
