(A) Colonies of strains with a mutation(s) and/or plasmid, indicated at the top and the left side of each picture, were formed on solid MSgg medium for 48 h at 30°C. Strains harboring a plasmid were cultured in the presence of 1 mM IPTG. Scale bar, 0.5 cm.
