Induction of SlrR upon overproduction of Veg. WT (168 BFA), Δveg (LY011), pO-veg (LY016), pO-MCS (LY015) and ΔslrR (LY013) strains were grown to mid-logarithmic phase in SMM at 37°C, and SinR in cells equivalent to 0.1 OD₆₀₀ units was detected by Western blotting with an anti-SinR antibody that cross-reacts with SlrR (20). The LY015 and LY016 strains were grown in the presence of 1 mM IPTG. The signal intensities of SinR bands on X-ray films were quantified using the NIH-Imagine software program, and the signal intensities relative to that of WT cells are shown below the bands.
